O'Hare airport
Option #1: Take a cab. |

Option #2: Drive.
Rent a car. Follow overhead signs directing you to Downtown. You’ll
be taking I-90 East, commonly known as The Kennedy. You can get into the
express lanes if you choose and if they’re open heading downtown.
Do not get in the express lanes if all the other cars appear to be coming
at you going 70. Exit the Kennedy at Ohio Street. Continue on Ohio, three
lights, to Wells Street. Make a right. You will be driving under the “el”
tracks…no need to worry; they’ve been overhead for about 100
years. The Merchandise Mart will be on your right between Kinzie and the

Option #3: Take the Blue Line.
Follow airport signs directing you to the CTA station. Board the first
train that comes by. Try to get in one of the end cars – less of
a walk later. All trains stop at the downtown stations. Get off the train
at Clark/Lake. Follow the signs to the Wells Street exit. Once through
the turnstile exit the stairs to your right. When you emerge from the
subway you will be on Wells Street facing North. Walk north on Wells to
the corner. Diagonally across Wacker and the Chicago River you will see
the Merchandise Mart. Walk towards it. Once inside the Mart take the center
elevators to the 2nd floor. Walk all the way to the west end of the Merchandise Mart
and into the Merchandise Mart Conference Center.

From Midway airport
Option #1: Take a cab. |

Option #2: Drive.
Rent a car. Cicero Avenue (Route 50) is the street just east of the airport.
Head north on Cicero Avenue to I-55 North, the Stevenson Expressway. Follow
the signs on the expressway to Chicago. The signs will loop you around onto
other expressways and you will end up on I-90/94 North, the Kennedy Expressway.
Continue on the Kennedy past the downtown exits. Exit the Kennedy at Ohio
Street. Continue on Ohio, three lights, to Wells Street. Make a right. The
Merchandise Mart will be on your right between Kinzie and the Chicago River.

Option #3: Take the Orange
Line.
Follow signs in the terminal for ground transportation, paying attention
to the CTA signs. Purchase a ticket, a steal at a mere $1.75, and board
the train – don’t worry, you can’t get on a train heading
the wrong way. Get off the train at the Clark/Lake station. Cross over
the platform using the catwalk. Wait for another train, shouldn’t
be long. Board a BROWN line train. The first stop will be the Merchandise
Mart. Detrain. Cross over catwalk and enter the Mart. You are now on the
2nd floor. Once inside the Mart, walk all the way to the west end of the
Merchandise Mart and into the Merchandise Mart Conference Center. |

Driving from the burbs
Your task is to get to the Ohio exit of the Kennedy. We’ll bring you
in from there. Exit the Kennedy at Ohio Street. Continue on Ohio, three
lights, to Wells Street. Make a right. The Merchandise Mart will be on your
